RTDNF scholarship applications due

The Radio Television Digital News Foundation scholarship application period closes on Jan. 15.

It only takes a few minutes to apply for one of 8 scholarships (or 4 fellowships for recent grads). In addition to up to $10,000, recipients will get to:

  • Come to Excellence in Journalism, Sept. 27-29, 2018, in Baltimore, for three days of networking, job hunting and professional training 
  • Enjoy one year of access to all RTDNA member training and resources

Hawkeye Heaven looking for sports reporters

The Hawkeye Heaven website and Facebook page is looking for journalism students to cover Iowa Hawkeye sports. Any written or video content that covers University of Iowa athletics is welcome.

Hawkeye Heaven started 11 years ago as a platform for Hawkeye fans in the military to get information on their favorite team. The site’s Facebook page has now grown to 112,000 followers. IRTS SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Eligible students have the chance to participate in an exciting media industry internship in New York City that includes travel, accommodations and an allowance!

Students must be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students as of April 2018.

Students selected for this highly competitive program learn about opportunities throughout the media industry, in addition to interning at a specific company where skills are matched to a corresponding area of our business. Accomplished students from all majors (including math, liberal arts, computer science, business, marketing, communications, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
