Scholarships available for political institute in D.C.

The Washington, D.C.-based Institute on Political Journalism is now accepting applications for the Feb. 7 Priority Deadline. Through its Leadership Scholars Program, the Institute has at least 25 full scholarships to aid students in attending summer 2018 programs in Washington, D.C. Details may be found by clicking here.

Sponsored by The Fund for American Studies, and in partnership with George Mason University, the Institute on Political Journalism (IPJ) is an eight-week summer academic internship program that offers undergraduate students a first-hand look at the journalism and public relations in our nation’s capital through:

  • An internship placement in journalism or strategic communications
  • Courses for credit in economics and government
  • Exclusive lectures, briefings and professional development seminars
  • Housing in the heart of Washington, D.C.

The goal is to provide students with hands-on experience in reporting, editing, interviewing and navigating the media landscape in Washington. For public relations students, we work to put them front and center with companies and organizations that provide a variety of services for their clients: crisis management, media promotion, advocacy campaigns, legislative and federal outreach.

Students should apply by Feb. 7 for priority admissions and scholarship consideration.

Visit www.DCinternships.org/IPJ for detailed information on the program. Contact Joe Starrs, Institute director, 202.986.0384 or jstarrs@tfas.org  with any questions.
