Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile, is offering short-term classes during January Term, which is summer in South America. Two-, three- and four-week sessions, worth 3-5 credits, are available Jan. 3-26, 2018. GO ANDES attracts students from throughout the world and provides an overview of contemporary Chile and insight into its culture, history, politics and economics. The program is conducted entirely in English, with Spanish as a Foreign Language class. Because UAndes is a partner university, Drake students do not pay tuition, but a $550 program fee that includes Spanish lessons, field trips, some meals and off-campus activities. Students would have to arrange their own airfare.
