Writing internship with the Iowa Economic Development Downtown Revitalization Pilot Program

This is a position available through Drake Writing Internships for the Iowa Economic Development Downtown Revitalization Pilot Program, coordinated with the Office of Community Engagement and Service Learning.

rake Writing interns work 50-55 hours between September and December (about 4-5 hours per week).

The position is unpaid. Interns enroll in English 199 (Internships) and receive 3 elective credits.

Preferred experience: Writing, with background in internet use, marketing, and graphic design a plus. Interns would select from a range of projects involving local historical research; oral interviews & editing of audio recordings; webpage content; revision of community promotional and business recruitment literature; writing scripts for historical tours; social media work. In addition, students would be expected to visit the community of Manning (mileage reimbursed) at least once during the internship. City representatives will be able to consult with the intern on campus, and much of the work will be done remotely.
