Advertising Sales and Marketing Assistant (Iowa Newspaper Association)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include assisting the sales department with the many segments of newspaper and digital media advertising. Provide support to account executives; coordinating and placing orders, assisting with deadlines, creating and designing ad copy. Other responsibilities include prospecting for new business and creating sales proposals and presentations.

The ideal candidate would be at ease with managing multiple projects at once within tight deadlines and developing ad copy for new and existing customers.

Graduating seniors also encouraged to apply.

Duties will include:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Processing advertising orders
  • Website updates
  • Contracts and billing
  • Assist with planning advertising campaigns
  • Ad creation and copy writing

Other responsibilities:

Works closely with assigned Account Executives and Media Department in the timely administration of advertising sales functions. Works closely with advertisers/agencies to answer questions, provide information, etc.   Responsible for sales support responsibilities relating to the classified networks, small space display networks and the daily networks.

Primary emphasis on prospecting for new business and ad development. Assists the staff with various administrative projects.

Exercises good judgment in handling telephone calls and written correspondence with advertisers and their agencies.

Exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.

Works under the general supervision and direction of the Sales Director and Inside Sales Manager.

Performs all duties within the objectives, standards and policies of the Association.
