Looking for a reliable individual to communicate with agency leadership, staff, the public and media to regularly convey information; ability to utilize communication tools such as website, social media and other digital media; ability to use Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms; ability to represent the program activity within and outside the organization and to gain support for the agency’s program goals; Knowledge of source materials and guidelines which can be used to resolve problems encountered not covered by precedent action; Ability to deal effectively with persons representing wide backgrounds, interests and points of view; Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and develop timely and economical solutions; Ability to objectively evaluate facts, situations and circumstances; Displays high standards of ethical conduct. Performs daily content updates to the department website, design digital graphics, update calendar and email tools to communicate program information to increase program participation. Must be experienced with content management system software (will use HTML and DRUPEL). Perform regular updates to the Iowa Culture App. Researches, plans drafts, edits, and disseminates informational material to program users, employees, state agencies, and the general public. Manage and promote the DCA brand throughout all activities.
Develops and implements Social Media plans for the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs to promote arts, film, history and culture through the Iowa Arts Council, Produce Iowa, State Historical Society of Iowa, State Historical Museum and the Historic Preservation Office. Coordinate agency level and program level social media to increase followers and participants on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, snapchat and other forms of digital communication. Will work with graphic designer to modify graphics for social media.
Develop project and event marketing plans in collaboration with other DCA communications and program staff to achieve desired levels of promotion and participation. Implement marketing benefits from media, program and exhibit partnerships to ensure all benefits are implemented. Will support division level marketing, coordinate collateral production, revise and create digital manuals, forms, etc. Will use current software and creative mediums to create videos and support webinars with creative digital technologies. Organizes and personally conducts tours of agency facilities to enhance understanding and support of the agency or institution; works with public and private groups to promote activities of mutual interest at fairs and exhibits.
Support Film Office campaigns, events and other marketing initiatives for Produce Iowa: State Office of Media Production. Will develop relationships with industry professionals and serve as a resource and contact for their endeavors. Will support the digital image database of Iowa location sites.
