Director of marketing, Lutheran Services (Des Moines)

LSI is seeking a full-time, people-focused, results-driven Director of Marketing Communications responsible for significant marketing statewide.
Duties: Develops, implements and monitors integrated marketing and communications plans to help LSI service units, support units, and philanthropy meet their goals. Measures and ensures the accuracy, consistency and effectiveness of LSI’s marketing and communications materials shared with internal and external stakeholders. Directs, coordinates and supervises the production of printed, electronic and digital material. Serves as primary public relations and crisis communications counsel. Serves as a member of the leadership team with specific responsibilities for providing leadership and operational management to the marketing communications staff. Provides contracted marketing and communications services for Iowa KidsNet resource family recruitment and retention service.

LSI’s statewide presence allows for the position to be housed in either the Ames or Des Moines LSI location. Moderate travel required.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Five or more years of work experience in marketing and public relations with supervisory/leadership experience.

Creativity and visionary capabilities with thorough knowledge of the principles and practices involved in marketing, research, public relations, fundraising and communication. Good knowledge of the practices involved in the production of advertising and multi-media communication including copy development, print design and electronic production. Strong project management skills.

Required: Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance to meet agency requirements. Ability to pass extensive background checks.
