Newspaper reporter (Austin, Minn.) — recent and spring grads

The Austin Daily Herald — first place General Excellence award winner in the 2014 Minnesota Newspaper Association contest — has an opportunity for a full-time reporter who aggressively pursues breaking and spot news, acts as a vigilant watchdog for readers’ interests and tells a good story. Recent graduates and spring 2014 graduates will be considered.

The Herald, located in the highly competitive news market of Austin, Minn., offers a great chance for a journalist who eagerly reports in multiple formats, including web, newsprint, magazine and social media. There is always something interesting to dig into here, and our journalists have won 19 awards in annual statewide competitions in the past two years.

Austin is an extremely diverse city of 25,000 and is home to a Fortune 500 company. The region offers many recreation opportunities and small town amenities, and is just a 90-minute drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
