Iowa Sister States Internship

Iowa Sister States is a volunteer organization connecting Iowans with the world community. Our Mission is to provide international programs that promote the mutual interests of citizens in Iowa and our Partner States. Iowa has relationships with: Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine (1996); Hebei Province, PRC (1983); Stavropol Krai, Russia (1988); Taiwan (1989); Terengganu, Malaysia (1987); Veneto Region, Italy (1997); Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan (1960); Yucatan, Mexico (1965).

Responsibilities
Assist staff and volunteers in the planning, organizing, and completion of programs and projects that fulfill the mission of the organization to include, but not limited to:
o Communications (social media, press releases, etc.)
o Marketing
o Grant research
o Event planning and implementation; program involvement
o Archiving ISS historical documents
o Research

Qualifications
o Student enrolled at a college or university.
o Prefer junior or senior standing, but will consider other class levels.
o An interest in international relations/international business/marketing/journalism or non-profit management.
o Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
o Ability to be a self-starter.
o Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.

Will you be getting academic credit?
You will need to work with your cooperating instructor/professor or intern contact at your school to ensure you receive credit for the internship. We will do whatever paperwork you need me to do in order to fulfill that aspect of it.
