Atlantic is a community of just over 7,200 residents and located one hour between Omaha and Des Moines. We have a booming retail industry recognized in the Des Moines Register in 2012 as one of Iowa’s three holiday “bright spots where Main Street retail is robust.” We host many large summer festivals and events coordinated by our area Chamber. There is a diversified economy where a student intern will learn about commercial industry, small business development, city government and many facets that will help develop them further for a future career anywhere. We are looking for a driven student leader to work with us in a paid internship this summer.
Public Relations, Marketing, Event planning, Hospitality and Journalism students wanted. Interested candidates must have experience with one or more of the following: development and implementation of comprehensive marketing/PR campaigns, events and/or specialized programming development. Job description will fit the skill set of the applicant.
The culture at the Atlantic Area Chamber is fast paced, business, tourism and community focused with a large volunteer base of community and business leaders. You will gain experience working alongside small business owners, young professionals, manufacturers, non-profits, city and county government and corporations. Grow your network, develop your professional skill set and add tangible pieces of work to your portfolio.
We offer one paid internship for 10-12 weeks during the months of May to August (flexibility with student’s schedule). Includes 30 hours a week with some night and weekend events. Independent, leadership driven, fast learners and self-starters encouraged.
Will offer assistance locating housing if necessary.
