Intern will assist the Festival staff in the preparation and execution of the Festival for 10-15 hrs per week, starting approximately July 10, 2013, through the three-day event (Sept. 20-22, 2013), and ending sometime in mid-Oct. depending on when all work is completed.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to: program execution, information compiling/updating, responding to email, distributing posters, credential creation, packet creation, vendor relations, volunteer relations and manual labor. Extensive hours will be needed during each of the three days of the event, and likely during the month of September leading up to the event (nights & weekends where needed). This is an unpaid internship, but we are happy to help coordinate academic credit.
We encourage interns to be involved in the day-to-day operation of successfully executing the details of producing the event. Intern will be solely responsible for an element within the Festival including programming before, management during, as well as follow-up after the Festival.
Qualifications we seek:
Self-sufficient independent worker
Upbeat and positive attitude
Enjoys manual labor and hands-on activities
Can handle working outdoors (in any weather element) and on their feet for several hours
Skills we seek:
· Solid working knowledge of most computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher.
· Solid writing and communication via letter writing, phone calls and emails.
· Experience working on events
