WKOW-TV in Madison, WI, is searching for an Internet Director who will be a high-energy champion for our growing number of online platforms including web, mobile, social media and SMS text messaging. The Internet Director will work in a hands-on way with our Content Manager and our news team to deliver continuous and compelling content to our customers on every available platform and will maximize the cross-platform synergy with our television station. The Internet Director will also support our sales and marketing efforts in new media in a variety of ways. The Internet Director’s big-picture goal is to grow content, audience and revenue.
The Internet Director will conceptualize and create new content concepts and explore new technologies that will enhance our platforms and enrich the customer experience. The Internet Director will lead, teach and coach others to participate in the station’s new media efforts and will present updates on new media efforts in departmental meetings.

Ideal candidates are creative self starters who work well with minimal supervision, adapt to flexible schedules, take ownership and thrive in a deadline driven, breaking news environment.
A college degree in Journalism or related field supports the expectation of solid news judgment, writing skills and knowledge of AP style. Knowledge of iNews, the WorldNow Content Management system and common software applications including MS Word, Excel and MS Outlook is preferred.
