Marketing/Special Events Internship

Under the supervision of the Community Outreach Coordinator, the Marketing/Special Events intern’s responsibility is to understand and represent the YWRC as an integral member of the Administrative team, effectively assisting with marketing strategies, special event planning and implementation and volunteer coordination.General Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a strong, positive and non-judgmental role model for young women 2. Advocate for young women individually and collectively
3. Serve as a knowledgeable representative of the YWRC and its programs
4. Develop a working knowledge of other resources available in the community 5. Abide by the YWRC’s policies and philosophy

6. Maintain client confidentiality except in specified situations related to mandatory reporting

Key Responsibilities:

1. Writing and design coordination for the monthly newsletter 2. Assisting with social media efforts
3. Assisting with event planning
4. Writing, distributing and pitching news releases

5. Writing and creating fliers, brochures and other collateral materials 6. Writing for the Website
7. Coordinating volunteers

Other Responsibilities:

1. Assist with other projects, answering phones, etc. as needed
2. Maintain open communication with YWRC staff about the internship, programs, questions,

comments and concerns

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Strong oral and written communication skills
2. Experience in social media and web based applications 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office and WordPress
4. Strong organization and time management skills
5. Ability to dedicate 10-12 hours per week to internship
