Communications Manager–full time

The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) is seeking to fill a position as Communications Manager/Office Administrator. This is a full-time position that qualifies for benefits. Applicants must be highly organized and must have demonstrated proficiency in volunteer management, written communication, the use of social media, and the maintenance of website content. Purpose:

* The purpose of this position is twofold:
* To sustain a strategy that will insure timely, effective, and informative communication between the Des Moines Area Religious Council and its many constituencies
* To manage the general office operations of the Des Moines Area Religious Council

Responsibilities:

* To implement a communication strategy that supports the mission objectives of DMARC
* To maintain effective, informative, accessible, and up-to-date websites
* To act as the brand manager for the DMARC and MovetheFood brands, participate in online conversations, and create content for DMARC social networking sites and activities.
* To prepare bi-monthly electronic newsletters for DMARC constituencies
* To prepare content for and oversee the production of the quarterly newsletter
* To prepare content for and oversee DMARC print marketing resources
* To oversee the efficient functioning of the DMARC office, including office hardware and software, mailings, and office supplies
* To ensure a welcoming environment for callers and visitors
* To oversee office volunteers

Skills and Qualifications:

* Demonstrated excellent communication skills
* Demonstrated ability with standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and publications software
* Demonstrated website development and maintenance skills
* Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze technology and communication issues and develop appropriate solutions
* Demonstrated ability to operate both independently and as a team member
* Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with technical support providers
* Demonstrated ability to acquire new skills when needed
* Demonstrated ability to treat all members of the public with respect
* College degree preferred

Accountability and Evaluation
This position is supervised by the Executive Director. A job review is conducted annually.
